HUMANITARIAN AID FOR FLOOD VICTIMS IN THE KHERSON REGION (126.868 UAH)

19.06.2023

On Friday, June 16, 2023, we provided humanitarian assistance totaling 126,868 UAH to support the flood victims in the Kherson region.

We delivered essential household appliances to the Kherson Professional Lyceum of Communications and Printing, where 80 people are currently residing. These appliances included a boiler, three microwave ovens, and three electric kettles, with a total value of 17,537 UAH.

Furthermore, we sent additional household appliances, such as three electric kettles, two refrigerators, three irons, and water purification equipment, worth 50,455 UAH, to Kherson School No. 8, accommodating 51 people.

In addition, we provided aid to the Higher Professional School No. 2 in Kherson, which is currently housing 40 people, including 11 children, with a capacity to accommodate up to 100 evacuees. We sent 40 sets of mattresses, pillows, and towels, along with two boilers and electric kettles, valued at 58,876 UAH.

The flooding situation has resulted in the evacuation of numerous individuals from neighboring communities to Kherson. Many of these evacuees were only able to bring essential belongings with them. Therefore, it is crucial to provide them with the necessary essentials for their daily lives, considering that some may not be able to return to their homes.

According to Greenpeace, the flooding caused by the explosion at the Kakhovka HPP has impacted 32 industrial facilities containing chemicals, oil, and gasoline. These facilities include oil refineries, gas stations, thermal power plants, and warehouses. Initially, an estimated 150 tons of engine oil leaked into the water during the early days of the disaster.
