ASSISTANCE FOR THE TKALYA VALENTYNA FAMILY (20,000 UAH)

02.08.2024

Last week, we purchased and delivered a refrigerator worth 20,000 UAH to the family-type children’s home of Valentyna Tkalya.

This family cares for 10 children who were displaced from the Marhanets, Dnipropetrovsk region, and currently reside in Yaremche, Ivano-Frankivsk region.

This family-type children’s home was established in 2011. Valentyna and her husband always dreamed of having a daughter, and now they have many. Over the years, the family has raised 30 children, with 20 of them already on their own paths in life—working, studying, and even defending Ukraine. Some of them have even given Valentyna and her husband grandchildren!

This family lived in Marhanets (Nikopol district), but they were forced to relocate due to ongoing shelling. In Yaremche, the children have started attending the local school and kindergarten, while some continue their studies online with their school in Marhanets. Two of the daughters have completed the 11th grade and are now applying to universities in Lviv—Marina to the University of Architecture and Nastya to the Ministry of Internal Affairs University. In their free time, the children enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking in the mountains, playing football, volleyball, and tennis, while the girls are involved in dancing, and the older children are learning about automotive mechanics. They also often bake cakes, pies, and pizzas with their father.

The family is currently living in a rented house and is hoping for housing assistance from the government, as their hometown has been suffering from shelling for the past 2.5 years. Life goes on, the children are growing, and they need to be provided with everything necessary.

This assistance was provided under the “Help to Family-Type Children’s Homes” program.
