VENOUS SCANNER FOR THE TREATMENT OF CHILDREN WITH CANCER IN THE SUMY HOSPITAL (107,000 UAH )
A portable venous scanner valued at 107,000 UAH has been delivered to the Sumy Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital for the treatment of children with cancer.
Previously lacking this vital equipment, the scanner plays a crucial role in the treatment process by aiding in the selection of an appropriate vein for venipuncture. This is a delicate procedure, and even experienced nurses may encounter challenges. Choosing the wrong vein can cause discomfort and may lead to more severe complications, including the development of tissue necrosis.
The Sumy Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital stands as the sole institution in the region offering primary, specialized, and highly specialized medical care services for children under 18 years of age. Annually, approximately 12,000 children from the region and the city of Sumy receive inpatient treatment.
Situated in a front-line region enduring constant shelling, the hospital has never ceased providing care to local children even for a single day.
At present, around 10 children undergoing cancer therapy are being treated at the hospital.
